Teeter EP-960 vs EP-560: What’s the Difference?

Teeter is your solution to back pain, and the only inversion table registered with the FDA as a solution for back pain, sciatica, herniated disks, muscle tension, and muscle spasms.

The only thing standing between you and relief from your pain is actually choosing which table suits you best! Since the EP-960 and EP-560 are two of the most popular models, we chose them for review. The only way to know is to try it for yourself, right?

The biggest difference between the two, aside from price (the E-960 is more expensive), is the ankle locking system. One model makes it easy to lock yourself in while the other could be difficult for people with severe back pain.

We’ll cover the results of our head-to-head test right after we cover the basics of the models.

EP-560 vs. EP-960: The Basics

Since these are two of the most popular model products, it is difficult to choose which one is actually better. They both come with a range of accessories and features as well as a 5-year warranty. Both are extremely effective at limiting back pain, but what’s the difference between the two?

Let’s see them head to head:

EP-560

  • Capacity: 300lbs
  • Weight: 67 lbs
  • Ankle Comfort: Great
  • Angle Control: Yes
  • Full Inversion: Yes
  • Fold for Easy Storage: Yes

EP-960

  • Capacity: 300lbs
  • Weight: 75.5lbs
  • Extended Handles: Yes
  • Extended Ankle Lock: Yes
  • Full Inversion: Yes
  • EZ Angle Tether: Yes
  • Ergonomic Ankle Comfort: Yes

So What’s the Main Difference Between the EP-960 and the EP-560?

As you can see, both are extremely durable and hold the same capacity and roughly the same weight.

The main difference between the two models is that the EP-960 comes with a range of added accessories for comfort. If you’ve tried inversion before, you know that some people (especially those with severe back pain) struggle to bend over to lock themselves in.

Other issues include stretching, mounting the table, and inverting at the proper angle (especially for beginners).

The EP-960 eliminates ALL of those problems

  • Secure Your Feet Easily WITHOUT Bending Over: If you have bad back pain, bending over to lock your ankles in is hard on your back, and makes inverting a chore. Not with the EP-960. The extended ankle lock handle lets you lock your ankles into place without bending all the way down.
  • Invert Easily and Properly With Confidence: The EZ angle tether is clearly marked at 20, 40, and 60 degrees for incredibly easy inverting, so you get it right every time.
  • Extra-Long Handles: The added handle length not only helps you stretch and get into position, but it also lets you decompress even further while laying down to give you a better invert and more pain relief.

How Did the EP-960 Make Us Feel?

We decided to do a standard invert on each device. With our back pain issues, we were able to gauge the effectiveness of each table.

The EP-960 delivered a more convenient, more comfortable inversion session. Though we didn’t notice THAT much of a difference on our back pain in the long run.

However, if inverting is uncomfortable or difficult, you could be discouraged from following through. In that way, we’d definitely recommend the EP-960.

All in all, they both offer a great inversion experience, but the EP-960 is far more convenient, especially for new inverters.

Who Should Buy the EP-960?

You can’t go wrong with either model, but we would definitely recommend the 960 to certain people. They are:

  • New users: Finding the right angle and getting in the right position are difficult. The EP-960 comes with accessories and markings that help you get into the right position and invert at the right angle.
  • Users with severe back pain: If your back pain is so bad that you struggle to move during the day, you don’t want to struggle to lock your ankles in while inverting. It’s worth the money to make it as easy as possible to lock in safely.

You really can’t go wrong with either of these models. Both deliver a safe, effective pain relieving experience. The major difference is that the EP-960 is more convenient and makes inverting properly way easier, especially if you have less experience. If you’re on a budget and are confident in your abilities, the 560 will do just fine. If you have bad back pain and aren’t sure you can figure it out on your own, it’s worth the money to upgrade!
